West Gate Tunnel Project (WGTP) Closure of Footscray Road – Port Access Impacts
Stockwell International have received information regarding works due to be undertaken as part of the Westgate Tunnel Project, Footscray Road will be closed between 12 January 2023 and 27 June 2023.
Footscray Road provides the only access for trucks to both Patrick Stevedores and DP World Ports.
Whilst access is still available to the port via Dock Link Road from the Footscray Road service lane (diverted into a single lane), there will undoubtedly be congestion created in the Footscray Road precinct and surrounding areas (Dynon Road, Moore Street, Whitehall Road, and Geelong Road etc) as a result of the closure the associated detours.
Stockwell International would like clients to note that any delays or costs that occur due to these works will not be liable for the costs.

Requirements for Paper Phytosanitary Certificates – May 1, 2023
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) have announced that commencing 1st May 2023, all paper phytosanitary certificates must have all required information in accordance with ISPM12, including being signed , dated and stamped. This applies to paper phytosanitary certificates dated on or after 1st May 2023.
Australia will not accept paper phytosanitary certificates after this date that are presented with QR codes only and without a signature, date and stamp.

Changes to Biosecurity Cost Recovery – January 16, 2023
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) have announced that commencing 16th January 2023, the Quarantine Processing Fee on all Formal Import Declarations (FID) for sea freight consignments will increase from $49 to $58 and will apply to all customs entries where the value of the goods is A$1000.00 or greater.
This increase accounts for the additional layers of quarantine screening that are now being carried out at the border to reduce the amount of ‘Hitchhiker Pests’ such as Khapra Beetle and Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB).
The increase in the Quarantine Processing Fee will automatically be added to the Customs Entry and be reflected on our invoices accordingly.
