Gateway Bridge southbound closure – Brisbane 

Stockwell International has received notice of the southbound closure of the Gateway Bridge in Brisbane on the 15th of October. 

The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane is returning to the Gateway Bridge on Sunday 15 October 2023. During the race, the Gateway Bridge southbound will be closed between 5AM and 9:30AM.

What you need to know
To keep Brisbane motorists moving during the Gateway Bridge closure, the southbound tunnels of AirportlinkM7 and Clem7 will be toll-free on Sunday 15 October 2023 between 5AM and 9:30AM.

Heavy vehicles including B doubles, oversized loads and/or dangerous goods will need to plan ahead to either:

  • Avoid travelling during this time;
  • Park at Nudgee Service Centre until the bridge reopens; or
  • Consider an allowable vehicle type to complete the freight task during the bridge closure time.

Stockwell International will continue to keep clients updated with any information or delays that may result of this event. 

FIT – NQRT Shuttle Rail Closure 

Stockwell International would like clients to be aware of the upcoming rail closure from 0600 Saturday 14th of October until 1400 Tuesday 17th October. The first train out of NQRT will be on the 17th of October with arrival into Forrestfield around 1500.

Please not this rail closure may cause additional delays and congestion to shipments. Stockwell International will not be responsible for any additional charges caused by this closure. 

Notice of Intention to take Industrial Action

Stockwell International have received notice of impending industrial action that may affect port operations.

Below is the breakdown of the bans set to take place across the ports: 

DP World Sydney:

  • Commencing Saturday, 7 October, various bans on operations will be initiated, including overtime bans, shift extension bans, and other work-related bans. The majority of these bans will extend until Friday, 13 October.

DP World Melbourne:

  • Beginning Sunday, 8 October, members will engage in a series of work stoppages ranging from 1-hour to 24-hour durations. Moreover, various bans on operations such as overtime, shift extensions, and work on certain ships will commence from Sunday, 8 October and will be in effect until Friday, 20 October.

DP World Fremantle:

  • From Friday, 6 October, work stoppages of varying lengths will commence, alongside a variety of operational bans including overtime, work on certain ships, and others, all starting at 0600.

DP World Brisbane:

  • Starting Saturday, 7 October, several bans on operations will be launched, such as overtime bans and shift extension bans, with a majority running until Friday, 13 October.

These timeframes do not include weekends or public holidays. Please note that notifications made after Midday are not considered ‘Same Day’. The following business day will be considered as day 1
