Changes to the USA Haz & La Spezia Port

Stockwell International has received the following information regarding changes at USA Haz & La Spezia Ports.

USA to NZ – Changes to LCL Hazardous Requirements

Please note effective immediately, origin teams will require the SDS sheet for all hazardous LCL shipments. In the past, the ports have only requested these for certain commodities when required by the shipping lines. However, nearly all shipping lines requesting SDS sheets along with the hazardous approval request. Failure to provide the SDS sheet prior to documentation cut-off, may result in cargo being rescheduled to the next available sailing.

Italy – Changes to La Spezia Container Terminal Port Receivals

Due to ongoing congestion at La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) the port authority has decided that full export containers may only enter the terminal 7 days prior to vessel berthing.

Inbound vessels are still experiencing major delays and ETA and ETB data are postponed almost on daily basis, which leads to a disrupted and inconsistent supply chain.

Shipping Lines have explored solutions to minimize disruption and to ensure cargo meets the vessel close off whilst being allowed to berth within the allowed time frame.

Origin trucking is currently booked 2-3 weeks ahead to ensure we are guaranteed a slot. In the even a container is unable to be received at the terminal due to a vessel delay, we will temporarily discharge container at a storage facility until the receivals at the terminal open.
