Stockwells is creating a sustainable legacy. We aim to foster positive social change and lessen our environmental footprint through every operation of our company. Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report is a framework to help stakeholders understand how Stockwells manages risks and opportunities in these three categories. Our report recognises that sustainability is a holistic spectrum – extending beyond just environmental issues.
Stockwells has partnered with Greenfleet – a non-profit environmental organisation committed to restoring our forests. Our company is supporting them in planting 1,000 trees and shrubs native to the 100-year-old forest in Ngulambarra, Victoria. As part of this relationship, we have just committed another $10,000 donation for tree plantings in Ledcourt.
Additionally, we are readying to launch our partnership with the National Trust of Australia (QLD), which wil see us working closely with Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to support the rehabilitation and release of native animals.
Since Stockwells own their own fleet of trucks – fuel efficiency is a priority. Utilising the latest technology, we plan fleet movements to maximise fuel efficiency, aiming to reduce our fuel impact by 5% by 2026.
As a family-run company, we know the importance of taking care of our people. Stockwells has invested in an Employee Assistance Program through Acacia EAP to offer our employees a number of supportive services such as counselling, leadership coaching and access to specialist helplines.
Community engagement and contribution is a strong pillar of Stockwells ethos. We participate in several community initiatives to promote strong social awareness.
Our team regularly donates to the Broadbeach branch to fund transport assistance and prizes for fundraising initiatives. Our team is looking towards expanding this partnership with more branches.
We have partnered with Friends with Dignity – a non-profit improving the quality of life of adults and children impacted by domestic violence. As their official moving partner, we transport donated goods to furnish new residences for anyone impacted.
In memory of a close friend of our company, we created a tribute legacy that allows anyone to donate to the foundation in memory of our loved one. As of 2023, the page has raised $6,307 to support the cause
As an Australian Trusted Trader, our management and staff are bound by mandatory reporting and yearly criminal history checks. Not only are our financial reports discussed at board meetings but we also have an outside entity to audit all financials to ensure transparency.
Stockwells’ management understands the responsibility it takes to lead their generation into the next. Our board members are committed to report and act on risks and be advocates to educate and provide solutions for improvement. We strive to be a risk-free business through strategies, policies, on-going assessment and continuous improvement benchmarks.
