The voluntary trade facilitation initiative operates within Australia’s Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) program and offers benefits to members including priority trade services, a streamlined process to become and accredited sponsor for the 457-visa program, a dedicated account manager, direct access to DIBP to discuss issues and initiatives affecting trade and duty deferral.
The Duty Deferral benefit allows Trusted Traders who defer GST to defer the payment of duty, to a consolidated monthly payment which is to be paid on the 21st day of the month following the month in which the cargo is imported.
Trusted Traders can benefit through improved cash flow by deferring payment of all or part of their duty liability to a consolidated monthly payment.
